MANILA, Philippines - An Air Force soldier apparently shot himself in the head Wednesday night, December 5, in a military barracks in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, the main headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Airman First Class Jayson Reforsado, who was assigned to a unit in charge of camp security, was brought to a military hospital in Quezon City but was declared dead on arrival, according to military spokesman Col Arnulfo Burgos. Reforsado was 26.

Burgos said that when fellow soldiers went to Reforsado's room after hearing a shot Wednesday night, they found him bloodied in his bed. Also found in the bed was the victim's service firearm, a .45-cal pistol.

Burgos said the police and the military are doing separate probes on the incident. He said they have yet to establish if Reforsado indeed committed suicide. - Rappler.com
