MANILA, Philippines – He’s on a Christmas break but just a text away.

President Benigno Aquino III began his 4-day break Tuesday night, December 25, but Malacañang gave assurances he’s just a text away.

On Christmas Day, the President joined his celebrity sister Kris Aquino in watching her movie “Sisterakas,” an entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival.

In a photo posted on the President’s official Facebook page, Mr Aquino was also seen trying to do the “Gangnam”  — his way — with grand nephew Vito.

Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Aquino would be in Tarlac and Baguio during his “working vacation.” The President is with Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras and some family members, according to Lacierda.

“Nonetheless, we were told that if there’s anything important, he is always a text away. And certainly communications are ongoing with him except that…we wanted to give the President more time to rest,” Lacierda said.

“He is updated on the typhoon in the Visayas and, on all other important matters of state, he is informed. But, again, this is an opportunity for the President to take a well-deserved rest. But it does not mean that the affairs of state are not moving forward,” Lacierda added. – Rappler.com
