MANILA, Philippines - The death toll from from tropical depression Quinta (Wukong) has risen to 23 from 20, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The NDRRMC said in its report on January 5 that 23 were reported dead in regions V, VI and VIII, while 3 were injured in regions IV-A and VI.
The government agency added that a total of 79,097 families or 377,293 persons were affected by Quinta. Over 87 families or 400 persons remain in evacuation centers.
The tropical depression, which hit the country on December 25, caused P548 million worth of infrastructure damage in regions IV-B and VI, as well as agriculture damage worth P147 million in Region V. - Rappler.com
