MANILA, Philippines – The Quezon City police arrested two more suspects – a man and a woman – in the killing on Tuesday evening, January 22, of Maconacon, Isabela Mayor Erlinda Domingo.

Supt Pedro Sanchez, Quezon City police Station 2 commander, said the two were arrested during follow-up operations based on information given by the first arrested suspect, Christian Flores Pahinado.

The mayor's driver was also wounded in the incident Tuesday night at the parking lot of Park Villa Apartelle along Examiner St, Quezon City.

Sanchez declined to identify the two except to say that the man was arrested at Purok 20, Barangay Commonwealth while the woman was arrested at Barangay Culiat.

An ally of Isabela Gov Faustino Dy III, the mayor was running for re-election under the Nationalist People's Coalition.

Isabela Gov Faustino Dy III described Domingo as a “very kind” mayor. “Wala kaming nababalitaan na naging kaaway niya tungkol sa pulitika o sa anumang bagay,” Dy told reporters Tuesday. (We haven't heard of any of her enemies in politics or other areas.) – Rappler.com
