MANILA, Philippines - Four days after the ambush, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) disclosed they are ready to present the gunman allegedly responsible for the death of Maconacon, Isabela Mayor Erlinda Domingo.
The arrested gunman will be presented at the National Headquarters Lobby of Camp Crame on Saturday, January 26.
The Mayor was shot dead as she was about to board her maroon Mitsubishi Adventure. It was the first election-related violence recorded in Metro Manila, according to the Philippine National Police.
Domingo was leaving the Park Villa Apartelle when she was shot. She was reportedly set to return to Isabela. Her bodyguard, Barnard Plasos, was injured during the incident, according to ABS-CBN.
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr, had previously identified the arrested suspects as Christian Pajenado, 26; Michael Domingo, 38; and Mary Grace Malones-Abduhadi, 25. Three more suspects are said to be at large.
The apartelle is at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Examiner Street in Barangay West Triangle. - Rappler.com
