Six years on, Jonas Burgos’ wife finally speaks

MANILA, Philippines – Six years since her husband went missing, the wife of Jonas Burgos finally speaks up.

In a video released by the Burgos family Sunday, April 28, Jonas’s wife talks about why she stayed silent in the past few years, and how she and their daughter are trying to cope.

The Court of Appeals recently held the police and the military “accountable and responsible” for his disappearance.

On April 1, his mother Edita submitted to the Supreme Court fresh evidence — including a photo of Jonas taken allegedly after he was abducted – as basis for the re-opening of the case at the CA.

Then, on April 3, President Benigno Aquino III ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a “focused” probe on the case. – Rappler.com
