Fire breaks out near TV stations in QC
MANILA, Philippines – Authorities immediately put under control a fire that hit a carpentry shop near TV stations in Quezon City on Monday afternoon, June 17.
Roalph Design and Display, at 36A Sgt Esguerra Avenue in Barangay South Triangle, is in a residential compound. It is a stone’s throw away from the ABS-CBN and GMA stations.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Jose Felipe Arreza estimated the damage caused by the fire at P2.3 million, P250,000 of which represent damages at the neighbor's kitchen.
There were no casualties.
The fire, which started at 2:24 pm, was placed under control at 3:12 pm.
The cause of fire still has yet to be determined, but Roalph’s sales and marketing manager, who reported the incident, said she saw a spark one moment, and the fire spreading the next moment.
