MANILA, Philippines – Janet Lim-Napoles will be finally brought to court on September 23 after a Makati court junked her camp’s motion to further defer her arraignment and suspend proceedings.

Makati Regional Trial Court Judge Elmo Alameda already postponed Napoles’ arraignment once, from the original September 9 schedule.

On Friday, September 13, Alameda junked 3 petitions filed by Napoles and her brother Reynald “Jojo” Lim, who are facing charges of serious illegal detention for holding Benhur, their cousin and former employee who is now a state witness in the pork barrel scam.

Napoles had filed an urgent motion for Bill of Particulars and an urgent motion to defer arraignment and suspend proceedings. Lim had filed a separate motion to suspend proceedings.

Napoles, alleged mastermind of the multi-billion-peso pork barrel scam, is detained at Fort Sto Domingo in Sta Rosa, Laguna. Lim remains at large. – Rappler.com
