ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Updated) – A total of 36 hostages were “released” by Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels on Monday evening, September 16 according to city officials.

Zamboanga City Councilor BG Guingona said 26 hostages onboard a white minibus arrived around 7 pm at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for processing.

Additional 10 hostages in Sta Catalina were also released, according to the hostages hotline. 

The Zamboanga City government’s Twitter account said after screening and processing, the official list of hostages will be released.
