MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang Palace is confident boxing champion Manny Pacquiao will snatch victory from American boxer Timothy Bradley during their fight in Las Vegas this Sunday, April 13.

Confident tayo na mananaig si Manny Pacquiao over Timothy Bradley (We are confident Manny Pacquaio will prevail over Timothy Bradley),” said deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte in a radio interview over dzRB Radyo ng Bayan.

The Sunday fight is highly-anticipated since it is the first time Pacquiao is facing Bradley since the American athlete beat him in June 2012. (READ: Getting Pacquiao to enjoy beating people up again)

The narrow split decision that gave Bradley victory was a controversial one with many believing the boxer did not deserve the title.

But this time around, the nation anticipates a win, added Valte.

The pressure is on for the Philippine boxing champ to re-establish his dominance in the sport after getting knocked out in 6 rounds by Juan Manuel Marquez in December 2012.

But he reignited hope among his supporters when he beat younger boxer Brandon Rios via unanimous decision last November.

Pacquiao, who is also a congressman from Sarangani province, brings to Sunday’s boxing ring a record of 55-5 with two draws and 38 knockouts.
