Flooding forces MRT3 into ‘provisional’ mode
(UPDATED) Full operations resume several hours later, after the flooding between the Buendia and Ayala stations is managed

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3) on Wednesday, August 27, was forced to revert to “provisional mode” due to a flooding problem between two train stations.

At around 2:17 pm on Wednesday, the line was operating only from North Avenue in Quezon City to Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, according to a tweet by the MRT3 management.

In a text message to Rappler, MRT3 spokesman Hernan Cabrera said flooding on the trail tracks between the Buendia and Ayala stations in Makati City forced the interruption of full operations.

Full operations resumed after the water was drained at around 4:36 pm, Cabrera later tweeted.

The MRT3 traverses through EDSA, and has stations in the metro’s business districts. – Rappler.com
