Bomb threat prompts class suspensions in 2 QC schools

MANILA, Philippines – The Claret School and the Holy Family School, both in Quezon City, suspended classes on Thursday, October 2, due to a bomb threat in Claret.

Holy Family School told Rappler in a phone interview they suspended classes effective 12 noon after a number of parents started calling them, concerned about the bomb threat in neighboring Claret.

Claret School was already cleared of any bomb threat, radio dzMM reported past noon. 

For the past months, bomb threats have disrupted classes in various schools. In September, the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology evacuated hundreds of students after the school received a text message that said an explosive was planted inside the campus.

In Manila, the Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, FEU Institute of Technology, San Beda College-Rizal, St. Paul College-Pasig, and Makati National High School had also received bomb threats in the past. – Rappler.com
