MANILA, Philippines – A trainer aircraft of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) crashed off the coast of Batangas at 9:40 am Saturday morning, January 31, killing two pilots.

“PAF trainer aircraft SF-260FH Number 1034 crashed around 300 meters off the shoreline of Barangay Bucana, Nasugbu, Batangas,” said PAF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Canaya.

The aircraft that took off from Fernando Air Base in Lipa City was part of a 3-aircraft formation training mission. 

The two pilots were identified as:

  • Instructor pilot Captain John M. Bayao
  • Student pilot 2nd Lieutenant Al-Nazer Jana
