MRT operations stopped due to stalled train
A northbound train stalls between the Ortigas and Santolan stations, but as of 9:11 pm operations are back to normal, says the MMDA

MANILA, Philippines – Operations of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT3) were temporarily stopped Thursday night, March 26, after a northbound train stalled between the Ortigas and Santolan stations.

According to an advisory from the  Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), operations from North Avenue station to Taft Avenue station in both directions were temporarily stopped “due to Drive Circuit Interlocking Problem.”

MRT general manager Roman Buenafe said, “We are making sure [passengers] are safely unloaded at the nearest station.”

Inconvenienced passengers posted photos on social media, showing commuters disembarking and walking on the train tracks.

Some commuters said they waited for nearly half an hour due to the stalled trains.

The MMDA tweeted that as of 9:11 pm that operations were back to normal. – Rappler.com
