MANILA, Philippines – More than 5 million families in 9 regions might be affected by Typhoon Chedeng (Maysak), according to a report by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday, April 2.

As of 1 pm on Wednesday, April 1, NDRRMC said the typhoon might affect 5,619,221 families or 56,638,709 persons in the following regions:

About 98,147 family food packs are available at DSWD’s National Relief Operations Center.

The department has an available quick response fund (QRF) of P913,751,855 ($20.55 million), while an additional P18 million ($404,766) was sub-allotted to the 8 regions other than Metro Manila.

Department of Health (DOH) hospitals are now on code white alert. This means medical personnel in DOH facilities will be on call to attend to patients any time.
