Sen Chiz Escudero is the only candidate without a tarpaulin set-up at the United Nationalist Alliance proclamation rally in Cebu because he did not send a representative

MANILA, Philippines – “No one told me about it.”

Sen Chiz Escudero said he wasn’t informed by the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) about sending a representative to their proclamation rally held simultaneously in Cebu.

On Tuesday, February 12, Escudero, from the proclamation rally of the administration slate’s Team PNoy, reacted to reports that he was the only candidate of UNA without a tarpaulin of his face and name.

Escudero’s tarpaulin was reportedly missing because he did not send a representative to the rally.

Escudero is one of 3 common candidates shared by UNA and the administration slate Team PNoy. Sen Loren Legarda and former censors chief Grace Poe are the other two.

Both Legarda and Poe sent representatives to the Cebu rally.

But Escudero said he was not asked to send one.

“Otherwise I would’ve done so,” he said,

He also brushed off questions about whether or not his presence in Team PNoy’s proclamation rally meant he was no longer campaigning with UNA. “I had an agreement [with Team PNoy]… The campaign just started, don’t try to get us to fight,” he said. – Rappler.com
