According to a report from GMA News, two men on motorcycles shot and wounded Ferdinand Malvar as he was driving a sport utility vehicle through Aniban Village in Bacoor, Cavite. He was hit in the stomach, but is now in the care of the Imus Medical Center. 

The vehicle was being used by the campaign of Edwin, who is the running mate of Ramon Guinto under the ruling Liberal Party.

Police are looking into the possibility of political motivations sparking the attack, though no suspects have been determined yet.
