Binay camp: Trillanes is ‘entitled to his delusions’
Quicho says Trillanes should practice what he preaches, adding that the senator 'continues to use taxpayers' money for his household'

MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Vice President Jejomar Binay on Sunday, October 4, hit Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s vice presidential bid, calling it delusional.

In a statement released to media, Rico Quicho, Binay’s spokesperson for political affairs, said the senator could not deceive the people through his supposed “political stunts” at the Senate, referring to the investigations against the Binays.

Quicho also cited surveys that supposedly show a decline in Trillanes’ ratings – from 4% last year to 1% in recent polls.

“Senator Trillanes is entitled to his delusions. He has built a career out of attempting and failing to destroy institutions and reputations. This is his claim to infamy. Now he wants to bully his way to the vice presidency,” Quicho said.

Quicho maintained Trillanes should follow what he preaches, saying the senator “continues to use taxpayers’ money for his household.” Earlier, reports surfaced that the senator employs his brother as one of his consultants. “Senator 1 percent can pontificate all he wants but he cannot fool the people. What can we expect from a person who led an anti-government movement but left his men when cornered? What value do we get from a convict who marched and took over a private property then surrendered when he failed to muster support for his own agenda?” Quicho said, referring to the Oakwood mutiny led by the former Navy lieutenant in 2003.

Trillanes on Saturday, October 3, announced his vice presidential bid. His group Magdalo also declared support for the candidacy of Senator Grace Poe. (READ: Trillanes running for VP, Magdalo group backs Poe) – Rappler.com
