MANILA, Philippines - Chief Justice Renato Corona has P12-M in one account in the Bank of Philippines Islands (BPI) Ayala Avenue branch, bank manager Leonora Dizon testified on Thursday, February 9.

The exact amount is P12,024,067.70. It is deposited in an Express Teller Checking Account number 14445803061. Dizon said it is still active.

This is on top of the nearly P20-M cash deposited in the Chief Justice’s two accounts in Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) as of December 2010.

In his 2010 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth, Corona declared P3.5-M worth of “cash and investments.”

Corona's deposits in the said BPI account suddenly ballooned from about P150,000 in 2005 to P12-M in 2010.

Dizon testified that the Corona had the following balances from 2005 to 2010.

2005 - P149,767.36

2006 - P153,395.12

2007 - P5,069,711.18

2008 - P1,525,872.87

2009 - P678,501.83

2010 - P12,024,067.70

Earlier in the trial, PSBank president Pascual Garcia III confirmed that Corona has dollar accounts with the bank. He refused to divulge details, however.
