Class suspensions Friday, August 10

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED as of 9:53 pm) Despite the termination of rainfall warnings over Metro Manila, several local government units (LGUs) and private education schools and universities have suspended classes on Friday, August 10, 2012. 

Based on official announcements by the LGUs, the Department of Education, and the official gazette of the Philippine government, here’s the list of cities and schools that won’t hold classes tomorrow:

LGUs (kinder/pre-school to high school, public and private, unless indicated otherwise)

1. Quezon City  
2. Marikina 
3. Pasay (all levels) 
4. Caloocan 
5. Valenzuela (public and private pre-schools, grade schools, and high school. Suspension including Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela and Valenzuela City Polytechnic College; the LGU says college students of private universities and colleges should consult their schools.)
6. Malabon
7. Navotas (all levels)
8. Malolos, Bulacan (kinder to high school) 
9. Madaluyong (public and private pre-school to high school)
10. Navotas
11. Mandaluyong (kinder to high school) 
12. Parañaque (all levels)
13. Muntinlupa (all levels) 
14. Manila (public schools only) 
15. Taguig (all levels)
16. Pampanga including Angeles City (all levels)
17. San Juan (all levels)
18. Makati (college students are advised to call their respective schools for information regarding class suspension) 
19. Pasig (all levels) 
20. Laguna (all levels)
21. Cainta, Rizal
22. San Mateo, Rizal
23. Taytay, Rizal
24. Tanay, Rizal
25. Montalban, Rizal
26. Jalajala, Rizal 

1. Colegio de San Juan de Letran 
2. Ateneo de Manila University (except Ateneo Law School)  
3. Adamson University 
4. Far Eastern University (Manila, FEU-EAC, FEU Makati, FEU Cavite, FEU-NRMF and FEU Diliman)
5. Miriam College
6. National Teacher’s College 
7. San Beda College (Manila and Rizal) 
8. Saint Paul College Quezon City 
9. University of Santo Tomas 
10. University of Assumption Pampanga
11. University of the East Manila and Caloocan 
12. Centro Escolar University (all campuses) 
13. University of the Philippines Integrated School
14. De La Salle University (Taft, Makati Extension, and Ortigas Extension)
15. University of the Philippines Diliman
16. Polytechnic University of the Philippines (all Metro Manila campuses) 
17. Baliuag University (pre-school to high school only) 
18. University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (Las Piñas, Molino and Calamba campuses)
