MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) formerly named Tropical Depression Ambo has moved further west late morning Monday, June 27, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

As of 10 am, the weather bureau said the LPA was last located 148 kilometers west of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, and is expected to bring “light to moderate rains and thunderstorms” to northern Luzon.

All storm warning signals have been lowered.

Earlier, the weather system, the first named storm in the country for the year, made landfall as a tropical depression over Aurora province, bringing heavy rain across large parts of Luzon.

The next update on the LPA will be included in the 5pm weather forecast, the bureau added. – Rappler.com
