MANILA, Philippines – Severe Tropical Storm Carina (Nida) already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning, August 1, but the southwest monsoon is still bringing rains.

In its bulletin issued 11 am on Monday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Carina is no longer directly affecting the Philippines.

The southwest monsoon, however, is bringing moderate to heavy rains to the regions of Mimaropa and Northern Luzon, as well as the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

These areas should watch out for possible floods and landslides.

Coastal waters in Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, and the western and southern seaboards of Southern Luzon are also rough to very rough. – Rappler.com
