More monsoon rains in Luzon, Western Visayas on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon will bring more rains to Luzon and Western Visayas on Wednesday, August 10.

In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Tuesday, August 9, state weather bureau PAGASA said the low pressure area (LPA) it is monitoring is now 815 kilometers east of Calayan Island.

The LPA will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, which is bringing rains to parts of the country.

PAGASA warned there will be more monsoon rains on Wednesday in Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cordillera, and Calabarzon, as well as the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro, and Palawan.

Light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are also expected in Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon. (READ: #WalangPasok: Class suspensions, Wednesday, August 10)

Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas, meanwhile, will have just isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

PAGASA also said coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough, with moderate to strong winds.
