More monsoon rains in Luzon, Western Visayas on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring more rains to Luzon and Western Visayas on Thursday, August 11.

In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Wednesday, August 10, state weather bureau PAGASA said the LPA is now 590 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.

PAGASA warned there will be more monsoon rains on Thursday in the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa, as well as the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Residents of these areas should be on alert for possible floods and landslides.

Light to moderate rains are also expected in the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, plus Western Visayas.

The rest of the country will have just isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough, with moderate to strong winds.
