MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) which is enhancing the southwest monsoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, August 11.
In its bulletin issued 11 am on Thursday, state weather bureau PAGASA said the LPA is now 425 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes.
Because of the LPA, monsoon rains continue to be heavier than usual.
Moderate to heavy rains are being experienced in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan.
Residents of these provinces should be on alert for possible floods and landslides.
Light to moderate rains also persist in Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cordillera, the rest of Central Luzon, and Western Visayas, as well as the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Laguna, Rizal, and the rest of Palawan. – Rappler.com
