MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) will continue to bring more rain to parts of Luzon on Wednesday, December 14.

In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Tuesday, December 13, state weather bureau PAGASA said the LPA was already located in the vicinity of Alfonso, Cavite.

On Wednesday, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Calabarzon. Provinces in that region – Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon – should watch out for possible floods and landslides.

The northeast monsoon is also affecting extreme Northern Luzon, so Batanes and Calayan will experience light rain.

The Visayas and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.

Mindanao will have generally good weather, with just isolated rainshowers.

PAGASA earlier said that the LPA is unlikely to strengthen into a tropical cyclone. – Rappler.com
