MANILA, Philippines – The state weather bureau on Wednesday afternoon, December 5, lowered storm warning signals in more areas as Typhoon Pablo (Bopha) made its way out of the Philippines.
In its 5 pm update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA) placed 4 areas under storm warning signals, as opposed to 7 at 11 am.
PAGASA placed Northern Palawan and the Calamian Group of Islands under Storm Warning Signal No. 3, indicating winds of 101 to 185 km/h.
The state weather bureau placed the rest of Palawan under Signal No. 2, and Occidental Mindoro under Signal No. 1.
Signal No. 2 means winds of 61 to 100 1 km/h, while Signal No. 1 indicates 30 to 60 km/h winds.
PAGASA said Pablo maintained its strength with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h.
It is moving in a west northwest direction at 15 km/h. – Rappler.com
