MANILA, Philippines - The state weather bureau forecast on Saturday, January 5, that a low pressure area will bring rains to the east of Mindanao, while the northwest monsoon will affect northern Luzon.

In its 5 pm weather forecast, PAGASA said Eastern Visayas and Mindanao, including Cagayan Valley, will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will be partly cloudy with brief rain showers and thunderstorms.

"Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail through the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough," PAGASA said. - Rappler.com
