If President Aquino continues to protect the traditional power structures, none of the problems of weak democracy, hardened poverty, and poor governance can be solved
MANILA, Philippines - More rain is in the forecast for Mindanao on Tuesday, January 8, as a low pressure area and an intertropical convergence zone continues to affect the area.
The LPA, embedded along the ITCZ, was last spotted 340 km southeast of Davao City, bringing cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms to Mindanao.
Flashfloods and landslides are possible in the area, state weather bureau PAGASA warned.
The northeast monsoon, or the 'amihan,' continues to affect northern Luzon, the bureau said.
Bicol and Eastern Visayas, on the other hand, will have cloudy skies accompanied by light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, while Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rain.
The rest of the archipelago will have partly cloudy skies with brief rain or thunderstorms, the bureau added.
