
MANILA, Philippines - A low pressure area (LPA) spotted southeast of General Santos City is expected bring cloudy skies and light-to-moderate rain showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, January 26.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was spotted 630 kilometres southeast of General Santos City.
The LPA is expected to bring light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms in:
"Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief light rains. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the Northeast to North over Visayas and Mindanao," Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. weather bulletin.
"The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough," it added.
The state weather bureau also said fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are warned of big waves.
Pagasa warned that rough-to-very rough seas are expected on the seaboards of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon.
