MANILA, Philippines – Major Philippine cities will begin the month with generally fair weather, the state weather bureau said on Friday, February 1, while noting the possibility of rain in some areas.
In its daily weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the following cities will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms:
Legaspi City
Puerto Princesa City
Iloilo City/Bacolod City
Metro Cebu
Tacloban City
Cagayan de Oro City
Metro Davao
Zamboanga City
At least 4 cities, however, have to prepare for cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms:
Tuguegarao City
Laoag City
Baguio City
Olongapo/Angeles City
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and Tagaytay City will have partly cloudy skies, PAGASA said.
PAGASA attributed the rain in some areas to the diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting northern Luzon. The tail-end of a cold front is the front boundary of two air masses, which produces clouds and rain. (Read PAGASA's full weather bulletin below.)
