Crising over southern Palawan

MANILA, Philippines - Southern Palawan remains under public storm warning signal number 1 as tropical depression Crising continues to move towards the West Philippine Sea Thursday, February 21.

Crising was last spotted in the vicinity of Balabac, Palawan, carrying maximum winds of 45 km/h near the center.

It is moving west northwest at a pace of 15 km/h, and will be 320 km west of Balabac - outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility - by Friday morning.

Residents in the area under signal number 1 should be prepared for possible flashfloods and landslides.

Moderate to heavy rainfall (5-15 mm/h) will be felt over the area, state weather bureau PAGASA added. - Rappler.com
