MANILA, Philippines - The low pressure area east of Mindanao continued to move closer Thursday, March 21.

The LPA was spotted 170 km southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, as to 4 pm Thursday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

On Friday, March 22, some parts in the east - Bicol, Calabarzon, Caraga, and Davao - will have cloudy skies accompanied by moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms.

These could trigger flashfloods and landslides, the bureau warned.

Eastern & Central Visayas, the rest of Mindanao, and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Temperatures will reach highs of up to 35 degrees Celsius, which is forecast for Tuguegarao City.
