No government work in Metro Manila: Monday, August 19
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) - Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr ordered the suspension of work in government offices in Metro Manila except those involved in disaster risk reduction and management, Undersecretary Manuel Quezon III announced on Monday, August 19.
Senate President Franklin Drilon also suspended work at the Senate Monday.
Meanwhile, cancellation of work in the private sector is left to the discretion of the employers, according to Quezon. He advised private sector employees to inquire with their human resource departments if their work is suspended.
Upon the recommendation of Pagasa, the Executive Secretary also ordered the suspension of classes in all levels in the following provinces:
- Metro Manila.
