MANILA, Philippines – Tropical storm Maring (international codename Trami) has grown stronger, all while remaining almost stationary some 600 km east of Itbayat, Batanes.

The latest update from national weather service PAGASA notes that Maring has maximum winds of 85 km/h near the center, with gusts of up to 100 km/h. The storm is currently headed north at 7 km/h and is expected to be 560km east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by Tuesday evening.
