Monsoon rains for parts of Luzon on Friday

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Expect more rains on Friday, June 13, as the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon.

Just as Tropical Depression Ester left the country on Thursday, June 12, state weather bureau PAGASA spotted another low pressure area (LPA) at 430 km west northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

The LPA is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan group of islands, as well as the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, and Central Luzon will experience monsoon rains on Friday.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have occasional rains, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from the southwest over Luzon. They will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest over Visayas, and from the south to southwest over Mindanao.
