Occasional rains for Luzon, Western Visayas on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression Inday (no international codename as of publishing) has gained speed and is now moving northwest at 20 kilometers per hour (kph).

State weather bureau PAGASA spotted the weather system 720 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan at 4 pm on July 29 with wind speeds of up to 55 kph.

Inday has not yet affected any part of the country and is not expected to make landfall in the Philippines. It will likely leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday, July 31.

Parts of Luzon and Western Visayas can expect some rains on Wedneday, July 30, according to PAGASA’s July 29, 5 pm bulletin.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Zambales, Bataan and Bicol as well as the entire Western Visayas will have occasional rains. The rest of the country is likely to have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The entire archipelago will experience moderate to strong winds from the southwest. Thus, coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
