Monsoon rain over Luzon on Monday

MANILA, Philippines – Ilocos region and Central Luzon will experience monsoon rains on Monday, August 4, as the southwest monsoon continues to affect the region.

Meanwhile, the eye of Typhoon Jose (international name Halong) was located at 1,010 km east of Casiguran, Aurora as of 5pm.

It has maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph. The typhoon is expected to move west northwest at 11 kph.

In its 5 pm bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience occasional rains.

Visayas and CARAGA will have cloudy skies light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail throughout the country. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
