MANILA, Philippines – The eastern parts of the archipelago are likely to experience light to moderate rains on Sunday, December 21, said state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its weather forecast on Saturday afternoon, PAGASA said that the tail end of a cold front is affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon, while the northeast monsoon or amihan is prevailing over north and central Luzon.

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) is also affecting eastern Mindanao.

As a result, the Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions, plus the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan regions will also have cloudy skies, but with light rains. The skies in Central Luzon will be partly cloudy with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Winds throughout the country will be moderate to strong, while coastal seas will be moderate to rough.
