MANILA, Philippines – State weather bureau PAGASA has raised public storm warning Signal No. 1 over two areas on Friday morning, July 3, as Tropical Storm Egay (international name Linfa) maintained its strength.
As of 10 am Friday, the center of Egay was located at 310 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour (km/h) near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.
The tropical storm is moving northwest in direction at 13 km/h. As it moves closer to Northern Luzon, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected within its 400-km diameter.
