MANILA, Philippines – State weather service PAGASA reports that a southwest monsoon is affecting Luzon and Western Visayas. 

Tropical Storm “Halong” is also estimated to be around 1,740 km East of Central Luzon, bringing maximum sustained winds of 85km/h and gustiness of up to 100km/h. The storm is forecast to move west northwest slowly.

Zambales and Bataan are expected to encounter monsoon rains, while Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, the Ilocos, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol and Western Visayas regions will experience occasional rains.

The rest of the country experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather, along with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA has also issued a heavy rainfall warning at 11:00 am, caused by the southwest monsoon, affecting Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Tarlac. The heavy rainfall warning issued also warns those in low-lying areas of potential flooding. 

Light to moderate rains, with the possibility of some heavy rainfall, is expected to affect Bulacan and Nueva Ecija. This may persist for 2-3 hours. – Rappler.com
