MANILA, Philippines - Economic growth that benefits all. That's one of the main goals of President Benigno Aquino III. After all, high growth is meaningless if it doesn't lift the quality of Filipinos' lives, he says.

More than two years into his term, the Philippines boasts of the second-fastest growth rate in the region, next to China; a low budget deficit and improved revenue collection that have earned the country credit rating upgrades; and more jobs.

But more Filipinos feel they remain poor, according to a survey by the Social Weather Stations. Below are fast figures showing where the Philippine economy stood when Aquino assumed office, and what has changed since. -
