MANILA, Philippines - The UST Growling Tigers may have failed to wrest the UAAP crown from the Ateneo Blue Eagles but they won the 2012 Philippine Collegiate Champions League finals series with a score of 81-76.

Sharpshooter Jeric Teng rifled in 13 of his 22 points in the final period giving them a comfortable lead despite Ateneo's comeback attempt.

With two minutes left in the game and the Tigers enjoying a comfortable 79-67 lead, Ateneo's Ryan Buenafe threatened a rally for the Blue Eagles.

His back-to-back baskets and Kiefer Ravena's shots at the free throw lane pulled the Tigers' lead to just 3 at 79-76. But with 10 seconds left to play, Kevin Ferrer tipped the sure clincher for the Tigers, nailing a 5-point victory for the Tigers.
