MANILA, Philippines – The country's top football club is set to show Filipino pride in the international stage.
United Football League (UFL) champions Global F.C. will be participating in the Asian Football Confederations (AFC) President’s Cup later this year.
Philippine Azkals’ team manager Dan Palami on Thursday night, January 3, tweeted a photo of a letter from AFC General Secretary Dato Alex Soosay. He confirmed the club entry in the upcoming competition.
In June, Global beat the Loyola Meralco - in a 1-1 draw, in the UFL Leage. In December, it suffered a 2-1 loss to Stallion FC in the UFL cup.
The club will face other league champions from countries like Palestine, Mongolia, and Chinese Taipei.
The competition will have its group games on May 2-12 of this year. The groups are yet to be determined. – Rappler.com
