MANILA, Philippines – Pido Jarencio changed his mind and will finally continue as University of Santo Tomas (UST) coach after negotiations with PBA club Barako Bull apparently fell through.

“UST pa din ako (I’m still for UST),” Jarencio told online sports site Spin.PH on Sunday, January 6.

The coach who led UST to the championship in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League and a runner-up finish in the UAAP last season had hinted he would sign for Barako Bull as interim coach after Junel Baculi was sacked.

However, Jarencio found out over the past few days that Barako Bull was in fact eyeing Rajko Toroman to be their next coach.

Jarencio resigned as UST coach last year after failing to take the UAAP championship for 6 consecutive years. UST won the UAAP title in 2006, when Jarencio was on his rookie year.
