MANILA, Philippines --- University of Santo Tomas recovered from a lethargic opening set to oust Far Eastern University in the 75th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Wednesday, February 13, at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Tigresses badly lost the first frame, but held on to win the last three, 13-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-21, to strengthen their own Final Four bid heading into their last elimination round match.

Carmela Tunay and Maruja Banaticla each scored 14 points to lead UST while Maika Ortiz added 11 markers as the Espana-based crew improved to 8-5.

Rose Vargas, meanwhile, top scored for the Lady Tamaraws with 13 points but FEU saw their semis hopes vanish into thin air after falling to 6-7.
