NU scalps UST to book last Final 4 seat

MANILA, Philippines -- National University booked its first Final Four appearance in history after ousting University of Santo Tomas in four sets in the 75th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Wednesday, February 20, at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Bulldogs pressed their attack against the more experienced Golden Tigresses, taking the playoff, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, and entering the postseason for the first time since the Final Four was instituted in 1994.

Cai Nepomuceno dazzled with another splendid output and delivered 23 points off 20 hits, two aces and a block while Dindin Santiago added 21 points spiked by 15 kills, five blocks and an ace.

Meanwhile, Judy Caballejo bade her collegiate career goodbye with 15 points as UST missed the semis for the first time in 10 years. - Rappler.com
