MANILA, Philippines — National University makes history anew.

The NU Pep Squad scored 696.5 points to win its first-ever UAAP Cheerdance Championship title, besting 7 other teams with an Arabian-themed routine in the annual spectacle at the packed Mall of Asia Arena.

Dethroned champion University of the Philippines Pep Squad (620.5 points) finished second after its party-inspired performance while De La Salle University (596.5 points) returned to the podium with a routine that featured its cheerdancers clad in military outfit.

After finishing 3rd in the 2012 edition of the CDC, NU went on to bag the 2013 National Cheerleading Championship before stamping its class as the top cheering team in the country today with a romp in the UAAP.
