Talk 'N Text wins game 6, forces do-or-die game 7 vs. B-MEG

MANILA, Philippines – B-MEG started the game hot but Talk ‘N Text finished it hotter.

The Llamados went on a 14-3 run to open the game and held the lead until the end of the first quarter, 27-19.

Talk ‘N Text made a run of their own in the second quarter courtesy of strong plays from both ends of the floor from Ryan Reyes and Jayson Castro. The Texters ended their strong second quarter play with a buzzer-beating 3-point basket from Castro that puts them ahead by two, 50-48.

Chot Reyes’ squad continued to pound on the Llamados in the third quarter holding on to the lead, 67-63.

The fourth quarter was no different.

B-MEG pulled within 8 points thanks to a 3-point play from import Denzel Bowles but Castro answered right away with a basket from downtown.

Ryan Reyes then scored on a breakaway layup after stealing the ball from James Yap to put the Texters ahead by 12, 90-78 with two minutes left in the game.

JC Intal makes a layup in the dying seconds that put the score at 92-82.

Denzel Bowles and James Yap played well for the Llamados scoring 33 and 27 points respectively but no one else outside of the two scored in double-digits for Tim Cone’s squad.

Jayson Castro is the best player of the game scoring 25 points on 10 out of 17 shooting from the field to go with 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

PBA Statistician Fidel Mangonon III said on social networking site Twitter that the 20,534 gate attendance for the game is the highest in a Finals series since Game 7 of the Ginebra-Air21 finals match in the 2008 Fiesta conference which had a total of 22,905.
