MANILA, Philippines— In July 16 2013, Tripleshot Media Inc., producers of the re-launched sports and adventure show, Gameplan, conducted an 8-week long online host search. Contestants were asked to submit their video profiles explaining their game plan in life and why they should be part of the show. Among several applicants, 18 hopefuls were invited for a VTR interview, and only 6 contestants made it to the cut.
The six finalists were: Inez Achacoso, a social enterprise officer and a former UAAP women’s football player for Ateneo; Mike Advincula, a financial adviser, Water Polo national athlete, and a former music VJ; Amanda Fernandez, a model, team captain and manager of Sikat Football Club; Ally Lim, a race organizer and a Track and Field runner; Juls Rodriguez, an adventure-seeker and camera man for reality series Survivor USA; and Ton Vergel De Dios, a former music VJ turned vocalist of pop punk band Hansom, and a street calisthenics gymnast. The six contestants were chosen based on their style, spunk, and spirit of adventure.
